These terms apply to the Penny Sentry website (pennysentry.com) and the Penny Sentry app for iPhone and Android. By using them you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

What Penny Sentry does

Penny Sentry shows gas station prices near you and tracks prices of games on the US Steam store. It is free to use. We may change, add or remove features at any time.

Prices are a guide

Gas prices come from third parties such as Google Maps, GasBuddy and official national price lists, and game prices from Steam and IsThereAnyDeal. They can be late, incomplete or wrong, and stations may charge differently for cash, card or membership. Always check the price at the pump or on Steam before you pay. Savings, discounts and program prices we calculate are estimates.

Drive safely

Do not read or operate the app while driving. Follow traffic laws and road signs; directions come from your maps app and may not reflect road conditions.

Your account

An account is optional. If you create one, keep your sign-in email secure and tell us at support@pennysentry.com if you think someone else is using it. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Acceptable use

Please do not:

• copy, scrape or resell our price data, or access the service with bots or automated tools beyond normal personal use;
• interfere with the service, probe it for weaknesses without our permission, or get around its limits;
• use it for anything unlawful.

We may suspend or close accounts and block access that breaks these rules.

Other services

Penny Sentry links to and relies on services we do not control, such as Steam, store websites and maps apps. Their own terms apply when you use them. Penny Sentry is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve, Steam, Google, GasBuddy or any gas station brand. Names and logos belong to their owners.

Our content

The Penny Sentry name, logo, design and software belong to Penny Sentry. You may use the service for your personal, non-commercial use.

No warranty

Penny Sentry is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including accuracy of prices, availability or fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Penny Sentry is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by relying on a price, a station listing or directions shown in the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

App stores

If you downloaded the app from Apple's App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies. These terms are between you and Penny Sentry, not Apple or Google, and Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or its support.

Changes

We may update these terms. We will change the date above, and continuing to use Penny Sentry after a change means you accept the new terms.
